Building Automation Platform

Your building keeps running when the internet doesn’t

Cynact is a local-first building automation platform. Lights, HVAC, locks, cameras, and energy run on a US-built head unit — with sub-5 ms response, multi-protocol support, and cloud only when you want it.

Everything you need to run smarter buildings

From a single thermostat to an entire campus, Cynact gives you complete visibility and control.

Local-first, offline-capable

Cynact keeps working when the internet doesn’t. Lights, HVAC, locks, and scenes run on the local head unit — cloud is an option, not a dependency.

Sub-5 ms local control

Tap a control, the device responds. No cloud round-trip, no 200–800 ms lag like cloud-only platforms.

Multi-protocol by default

Z-Wave Plus LR, Zigbee 3.0, Matter/Thread, BLE, MQTT, REST/Webhooks today. BACnet and Modbus in active development.

AI energy optimization

Continuously tune HVAC, lighting, and shades to cut energy use without giving up comfort. Tied to live PG&E tariffs.

Real-time monitoring

Live telemetry from every sensor. Cameras, climate, energy, and intrusion in one view — with instant alerts.

Security & access

TLS in transit, MFA, audit logs, granular per-user permissions, US data residency. TPM 2.0 and coreboot firmware available on commercial tiers.

Roadmap
Voice AI — coming Q3 2026

On-device speech-to-text and text-to-speech. Cloud LLM for reasoning, but raw audio never leaves the building.

Multi-site portfolios

Operate one home or dozens of buildings from a single pane of glass with role-based access and site grouping.

How it really works

No black boxes. Cynact is a local head unit, an open control engine, and an optional cloud layer — each with a clear job.

Head unit

A US-built Protectli or OnLogic appliance installed on-site. Runs the control engine, talks every protocol locally, and works without internet.

Supabase data layer

Authoritative state, history, audit logs, and tenant isolation in a Postgres-backed cloud — encrypted in transit and at rest.

Cloudflare Tunnel

Secure remote access without opening inbound ports. No VPN required. Zero-trust auth on every request.

Control engine

Battle-tested, open-source automation core extended with Cynact’s scene, schedule, and AI optimization layer.

Cloud orchestration

Optional cloud services for AI energy optimization, multi-site rollups, and notifications — the building keeps running if the cloud is offline.

Speaks every protocol that matters

Most platforms pick a lane. Cynact bridges residential, commercial, and grid protocols on a single head unit.

Three line items, no surprises

A Cynact project has three separate costs. We quote each one transparently so you know what you're paying for.

1. Hardware

Head unit appliance

Protectli or OnLogic appliance, quoted to your site. One-time cost. See hardware tiers.

2. Installation

$999–$2,999 typical

One-time fee. Site survey, install, programming, training, and a 30-day follow-up. Varies by site size and protocol mix.

3. SaaS subscription

$99–$299 / month

Monthly tier below. Cloud orchestration, mobile apps, updates, and support — billed monthly or annually.

SaaS subscription tiers

Estate
$149/node/mo

Fully handled — design, onboarding, and seasonal service included.

+ Onboarding fee · quoted per site

  • Everything in Haven
  • White-glove design & onboarding
  • Phone support · fastest response
  • Proactive system-health monitoring + seasonal on-site tune-up
  • Included change requests / service visits

Signature
from $229/node/mo

By application. The home fully handled — including across multiple properties.

+ Onboarding fee · quoted per site

  • Everything in Estate
  • Dedicated contact + on-call service
  • Unlimited change requests
  • Custom, ongoing automation development
  • First access + hands-on onboarding for AI tiers
  • Portfolio coverage across additional properties

All integrations are included on every tier — the catalog is never a tier lever. The head unit is rented, never sold; its cost is folded into the monthly. Onboarding is a one-time, labor-only fee (assessment + commissioning) scaled to the work, quoted after a walkthrough. Month-to-month after a 12-month initial term; node returned on cancellation. AI features ship as opt-in upgrades, surfaced as early access at Estate and Signature.

Software + installer

We don't just sell software — we install it.

Cynact is built by Routbox Inc. and installed by our in-house low-voltage crew, Wiztec LLC. One team owns the outcome from cable to cloud, so the gap between “sold” and “works” doesn't swallow your project.
